1. Back up and verify your important data
Save photos, messages, files, and other information using a backup method supported by your device. Check that the backup actually completed and that important files are accessible. Transfer authenticator apps and recovery methods before erasing a device; losing these can lock you out of other accounts.
Do not manually delete iCloud-synced photos, contacts, or files to prepare an iPhone: those deletions can also remove them from iCloud and your other devices. Follow Apple’s sign-out and erase procedure instead.
A factory reset deletes data and cannot be undone by our team. Do not reset until you have verified your backup and are ready.
2. Move your phone service and payment information
Transfer your phone number and service to your replacement device with your carrier. Remove a physical SIM before handoff. For eSIM, confirm the new service works before deleting the old profile; deleting an eSIM does not necessarily cancel your service plan.
Follow the platform’s instructions to remove payment cards and linked wallets. Do not put payment details or account credentials in the buyback inquiry.
3. Remove accounts and activation restrictions
- iPhone or iPad: follow Apple’s official steps for signing out, Find My, and erasing the device. If prompted, use your Apple Account credentials yourself—not through a buyer.
- Android: remove Google and manufacturer accounts according to the device’s instructions before resetting through Settings. Reset protection may otherwise require your old account.
- Apple Watch: unpair it using the official procedure; erasing on the watch alone may leave Activation Lock enabled.
- Laptop, console, or other device: sign out, remove device associations, and follow the manufacturer’s supported transfer process.
- Work or school device: have the organization release management restrictions if you are authorized to sell it.
4. Erase using the supported reset procedure
Only after backup and account preparation, use the device’s official erase/reset process. On supported Apple devices, Erase All Content and Settings is the relevant option; exact steps vary by model and software. Android, Windows, Mac, and console reset choices differ, so use the manufacturer instructions for the specific device.
Do not give a buyer your passwords to “finish” a reset. If you cannot remove a lock, recover your account through official support before transferring the device. We do not bypass ownership locks.
5. Check the device and gather accessories
Confirm the device reaches its initial setup screen without displaying your personal information. Remove memory cards and any remaining SIM. Gather agreed accessories, such as chargers, controllers, or styluses. Keep a record of the model and any agreed terms.
Contact our team to confirm the handoff details before visiting the business address. Never send a device with a swollen, leaking, or overheating battery without specific safety instructions.
